Who We Are

Learn. Play. Compete.

Since 1963, Vimy Western Riding Club has been a cornerstone of the Cowichan Valley equestrian community, promoting a welcoming and supportive space for riders of all ages and skill levels. The club's core values center around education, enjoyment, and an encouraging environment where riders can deepen their connection with western riding and form friendships with like-minded people.

The club provides ample opportunities for members to engage with their passion for western riding through an active calendar of events, including clinics led by experienced trainers, The Vimy Western Riding Club Series, regular club meetings and more. The Vimy Western Riding Club Series, held on the last Sunday of May, June, July, and August, allows riders to compete in performance and game classes.

Nestled behind the Vimy Community Hall on Gibbins Road in Duncan, the club's grounds include a spacious competition ring, a trail ring, four horse corrals to accommodate members' horses, an announcer's booth, bleachers for spectators, and a concession stand offering food and beverages.

Vimy Western Riding Club operates as a non-profit organization, run by a dedicated team of volunteers who generously contribute their time and expertise to ensure the club's continued success.  The club relies on donations throughout the year to sustain its operations and offer programs throughout the year.  Funding sources include membership fees, clinic fees, proceeds from silent auctions held during events, and other fundraising initiatives. An annual awards banquet is held at the end of each year, featuring a buffet-style meal, a silent auction, and other entertainment to celebrate members' achievements and contributions.
